Recount Robert Louis Stevenson’s 12-day, 120-mile solo hiking journey through the sparsely populated and impoverished areas of the Cevennes mountains in France in 1878. The character of Modestine, a stubborn, manipulative donkey he could never quite get the better of, is memorable. In this writing/art course you will enter an imaginary world and travel with a companion donkey, recording your journey in writing and a variety of visual art forms. Bring your own writing and drawing supplies.
